"Earth's crammed with heaven, And every common bush afire with God, But only he who sees takes off his shoes, The rest sit 'round it and pluck blackberries."

Look Daddy... We Went Bowling

We were lucky M didn't pinch her fingers while bowling.  She really liked hanging out at the ball rack.

GQ loved bowling.  Except for when it wasn't his turn.  And for when it wasn't his turn.  And when it wasn't his turn.  Then, he screamed.

M liked bowling until she didn't.  And then she didn't.

E liked bowling better at the end.  She really wanted to get all the pins down.  Unfortunately her mother was bad at lining up the ball shoot.

M pushed so many buttons on the computer it went to Chinese.

Is it coming yet?

Look Daddy... We're Having Swim Lessons

M usually stays near the edge when crossing the pool.

E thinks putting her head under is a BAD idea.

But splashing Mom is a GREAT idea.

I couldn't believe she actually blew bubbles.  Although she often tells me that she doesn't do it even though her teacher asks.

Meanwhile GQ plays on the splash pad.  He likes to eat the water and spit it in the drain.

Look Daddy... We're Playing at Grandma's

Cousins' Andy and Cody have these great little toys (iTouch) that GQ is definitely coveting.  Old MacDonald games, Three Little Pigs... what more could you want than Daddy's toy you're never allowed to touch with kid stuff on it?

An angel sleeping.  I think she likes having her own digs instead of putting up with the Mster's night-time antics.  She gets to read books with a light on as long as she wants!

GQ found this Buzz night-shirt in one of our clothing grab-bags from Aunt Em.  He insisted on putting it on and then ran around the house with sound effects.  Sorry Justin... I couldn't get a good video.  But I did try... I promise!

4th of July

GQ had to have a hat like Daddy... although he often left it behind on the grass.

Too bad we were at the end of the parade route and missed most of the good candy throws.  Next year we'll know better.

I don't know what is more sad????

Is it that Justin brought this home because he thought I'd like it?

That I loved it so much?

Or that I loved it because it describes my relationship with cooking so well?

Regardless, for your amusement:

In other news, I am leaving forever... pretty much.  Until then, enjoy your time without being hassled by me.

Winner!

Since my contest was so clear, and stuff, I'm not sure whether it ended last night or if it's supposed to end tonight.  But since it was unclear and it seemed like it'd been long enough to me, I decided it ended last night and I would announce the winner today.

So, I tore up an envelope and wrote everyone's names on it and then I made Justin pick one.  Which is kind of wrong since he entered the contest, but whatever.

And the winner is:

Karin!!!!!!!!!

So, I will send you "Emily of New Moon" if you e-mail me at jrswood@gmail.com with your current mailing address.

Thanks everyone for playing along and reading a blog post that was way too long

M

Earlier today I told M that Daddy was helping the Stake President.

At lunch, E asked M where Dad was.

Said M:  He is helping the fake president.

True Enough

After yelling at the kids in the car about fighting with each other, we came inside.

Said Mom:  "I am sorry for yelling at you in the car."

Said E:  "It's okay.  It happens all the time."

Sigh.
