"Earth's crammed with heaven, And every common bush afire with God, But only he who sees takes off his shoes, The rest sit 'round it and pluck blackberries."

Week Two in SLC

The picture below was actually from Week One, but I missed it somehow.  E took the picture of me and my dance friends for me.  I think GQ thought the picture was of him... as did the Assembly Hall.  Annie has gone ahead and birthed that baby since I saw her... congrats!  I also saw Jenni/Jennie, but totally forgot to take a picture what with all our stimulating conversation about mirrors and maturation and such.

Visiting with Elisa and her Kainoa.  I cannot believe how big he has gotten.  It seems strange that I didn't meet him until now since I have gotten to hear so many great stories.  Elisa entertained my children with her apricot tree and also saved the day by loaning us a stand up bouncer for Baby S.  He loves to stand and it got a little tiring holding him straight up for a week and a half.

So, so happy to be going on a walk.  Notice the hat?  It will start looking worse and worse as the pictures continue since Baby S likes to suck on it, and it often ends up shoved under/in a purse.

Meeting Cousin Grady for the first time.  When Bekah went into labor early with Grady I was depressed and told Justin we had to eat out.  A week later I had Baby S two weeks early.  Blessings from heaven!!!

Bekah is the cool mom who actually let the kids take pictures with her camera.  My children were smitten with her, her toys, and her backyard.  M couldn't leave those raspberries alone and ate more than her fair share of green strawberries despite my best efforts.

Then we met up with my old college roommates that live in Salt Lake - Kyle and Julia.  Some cute kiddoes at that shindig.

Oh, and us too.  Too bad I don't have any digitals of the college days for you.  And too bad that getting the video of our singing marathon from Shipp 115 is definitely beyond my technological ability.  Because I am sure you really want to hear that one.  Ha.  E also took this picture.  Obviously her picture skills improved a lot after Bekah actually let her use the camera for awhile.

Question?

So, I had people ask me about following me on Instagram. I must admit I have no idea where my pictures go when I take them. I need to be tutored. I think my username is boogaliechoo???

Our Trip to Utah... Week One

First came the lovely drive from Iowa to Utah.  The kids were very good, although Baby S was pretty sure he was being tortured.  We stopped often at rest-stops where the Baby got to play.

Sleeping in the car:

Visiting Great-Grandma Salazar:

(M was obviously very excited to be in the pictures.)

New picture at the Temple.  No, my lighting is not great.... but all four children are in the picture and looking at the camera.

Hanging out on Grandma's bed:

Dressing up at Grandma Becky's:

Swimming with the Walsters, and making soup:

Golfing with the set Grandma bought him:

E is my mud child.  She will stick her hands in dirt and rocks at every opportunity.  Below she used mud and dirt to get this umbrella standing up all by itself.  Then they poured water on it so that it was raining.

Swimming Lessons

We had two weeks of swimming lessons for E before we left town.  Poor Baby S had to hang out in his stroller. M and GQ enjoyed watching the swimming for the first week - and then they decided it was very boring.

E was very excited about swimming this year and dunked herself repeatedly.  She is getting the hang of swimming, which makes me very happy since I was always so talented at swimming myself - cough, cough.

Cute Baby

Baby S not only looks like E, he also acts like her.  He loves to stand up all the time and hates sitting or laying on the floor.  Since he is so stiff, Justin pulled out Grandpa Duck's standing trick.  Obviously Baby S enjoys it:

GQ picked out Baby S's hat for the summer.  I thought it would be silly, but GQ insisted S try it on - and boy did it end up being cute.  It's good we have one trendy person in the family.

Swimming

We went swimming with the family before we ran away to Utah.  Once we arrived, Baby S did what he always does.  He spit up:

Talented fellow, isn't he???
