"Earth's crammed with heaven, And every common bush afire with God, But only he who sees takes off his shoes, The rest sit 'round it and pluck blackberries."

End of February

Sleeping:

After spending months growing out my bangs, I decide it looks awful and cut them off again.

Sterling's hair, on the other hand, falls out in marvelous patterns:

With a little sliver of good weather (and no wind) we venture outside to enjoy.  The kids were ecstatic, and even Sterling joined in on the fun.

The big boys think it is very fun to play with the little boy's toys.

Stretching!

This is fuzzy, but I like this picture because it shows how I usually see Sterling when I'm taking care of him.  and I like the look on his face as he surveys the world and takes it all in.

Friday Night Movie Nights are the kid's favorite tradition lately.  They are so happy when it is time to climb on the bed and enjoy a movie.

Apparently I take a lot of pictures of Sterling when he's sleeping....

Smiles!  Sterling has a great smile with a dimple he saves for his happiest moments.  He smiles whenever someone stops to say hello (since usually we are all running around like crazy people).

When at the Children's Museum... find something that looks like an iPad and play with that!

Eating is apparently quite exhausting!

More snow pictures... I am not rearranging to get these in the right place.

Look at the love coming off those two :)

My attempt at a newborn photo shoot is below.  I didn't get to it before he developed his acne/balding and so these are a little older than those first weeks when he started to smile.

Costco!!!  With a covered garage, it may or may not be our favorite place this Winter!

Valentines

Look at all those children dressed up for the day of hearts!

And yep, we still love each other.

Ellie wanted to make chocolate covered strawberries.

Not so sure they looked like hearts.....

February Happenings

February was cold.  Lots of days home from school (not that I minded, with a new baby).  And lots of hanging around the house.

Cupcakes for Family Home Evening. It was so windy that we barely got inside the shop.

Venturing to the grocery store.  Our cart was full before we started.

Spencer dressed these bears himself.  He put the baby under the Mom's clothes.

Meg loves to put on her ballet clothes when we stay home.  She also loves to do her hair.

Ellie dresses everyone for Church.  She said they were being sailors.

Meg's Creation:

Playing Baby Spencer:

Daddy studying and tending Baby Sterling:

The end of January and Spencer's Birthday

We finished January, it's true.  And Sterling did that thing that babies do: he grew up quickly and started giving us some handsome smiles.

The kids made a train in the living room:

And Spencer had his birthday!  We went and got cupcakes and he enjoyed blowing out the candle.  Spencer happens to like fire quite a bit.

This little boy is a treasure in our home.  He loves superheroes, cars, horses, and technology.  He is a Daddy's boy and tells Daddy to "tickle me" whenever he sees him.  He sneaks and steals the iPad, which the other kids love because then they play with it too and blame it all on him.  He likes to throw things around the house, which is a little dangerous and painful for the rest of us.  At Church he sits with his friend "Lina."  He wants to ride bikes all the time, even if it is frigid outside.  He either eats and eats and eats, or throws his food away completely.  He loves bananas and we have to buy several bushels a week to keep up with his ravenous banana appetite.  He loves his siblings and is always asking who is going to sleep with him at night (they take turns joining him upstairs).  He doesn't like waiting to pick up Meg and Ellie after school and often yells at Mommy "Drive! Drive!"  Despite this, he insists on going on car rides and cries if he is left home.  Spencer has done great with Sterling.  Sometimes he likes to play "Baby Spencer" but he loves his brother and pets him when he can.  We love our Spencer!!!
