"Earth's crammed with heaven, And every common bush afire with God, But only he who sees takes off his shoes, The rest sit 'round it and pluck blackberries."

Kansas City

This Spring we went on our family trip to Kansas City, Missouri.  The pictures below are not completely in order, and I'm not going to fix them.  So, there you go.

Our first stop was at the Cracker Barrell.  This has become a family tradition for trips together even though the Cracker Barrell is quite the interesting spot.

Our next stop was Legoland Discovery Center.  The place was practically empty and the kids had a great time riding the rides over and over again, playing with the Legos, and singing kareoke.

Eating at Fritz's Railroad restaurant.  The trains brought our food to the table, which was really exciting to all the kids.

Union Station (some of Spencer's photos).

One of the favorite parts of our trips for the children is staying in the hotel.  The kids sleep sideways on the bed to fit, with Spencer and Sterling in port-a-cribs.  They actually all slept really well, as long as they got a good dose of Full House in beforehand.  Boy do they love that show.

The free Hallmark museum, where you can make cards from their leftover scraps, and see how bows and greeting cards are made.

End of April

We get caught in a torrential downpour.  If only the photos did it justice:

I get Meg to empty the papers from her backpack.  And this is only kindergarten.  Afterward she tells me that her backpack feels wrong, like it won't stand up by itself.

Easter

Happy Easter!  This was the first Easter in Iowa where we weren't wearing our heavy winter coats for our Easter Egg Hunt.  Weird with how cold the rest of the winter was.  The girls invited their friends Gabrielle and Emma from school, and had a great time at the hunt.  Family pictures also... with the signature two year old grin on the ones below.
