"Earth's crammed with heaven, And every common bush afire with God, But only he who sees takes off his shoes, The rest sit 'round it and pluck blackberries."

Um... Is it Quiet in Here?

So, here I am, blissfully reading blogs and wasting the little time I have left until my girls go to sleep, when I realize... it's awfully quiet in this house I call home.

A few thoughts go through my mind.

Should I be worried?
Should I stand up and check things out?
Or should I just sit here and glory in a quiet moment.

After all, maybe the girls are just enjoying playing together. Really quietly.

Or maybe E has discovered the sparkle wood paint and is painting her fingernails, along with the tablecloth.

And maybe when she is done she will hand the sparkle paint to M, who will make sure to dab some on her own hands, mouth, face, pants, etc.

Maybe that's it too.

It's happened to me too! Quiet is always a bad sign.

Ah, yes, I always start to panic when things get too quiet. Kids are way too ingenious, don't you think?

So sad that a quiet moment immediately raises our suspicions. Darn toddlers.

there's nothing worse than that quiet-ness in the house. Sometimes I choose to let them do wild things - like paint their nails at my kithen table, just to keep the quiet.

Little girls NEVER do anything naughty when tucked away in corners out of their Mama's sight.....

quiet is never good in our house. Last time Allison was quiet she had found my pin cushion (which, being off limits is obviously the most interesting thing in the house) and was proceeding to remove all the pins and try to hold them all in her fist. Not my idea of fun...
