"Earth's crammed with heaven, And every common bush afire with God, But only he who sees takes off his shoes, The rest sit 'round it and pluck blackberries."

Why is it...

...that when children need to throw up they come tell you first, and then throw up next to your bed?

Why can't they just tell you after they throw up in the toilet?

I am going to invest in a plastic mat to put around my bed.

The FireStation... I mean, the Fire Truck Station

Last week we went to the "Fire Truck Station" as GQ calls it.  He was soooo excited for days.  When we went he was horrified.  I could barely get him to climb into the fire truck.

I think that this picture of M is pretty funny.

You know how they put on the gear to teach your children not to be afraid????  See those children off to the side???? Yes, my children will be running away from the fireman if he visits our house.

But GQ did like the flashlight on his helmet.

I wish I had taken a picture of the entire back of the truck that M was sitting on.  It said "Stay back 500 feet."

Halloween

Look.... I made Halloween bags.  I was proud of myself for being momentarily crafty.  I should have made GQ's first though, because his turned out the best and he was the one who cared the least.

Our lone Halloween night picture.  M was a fairy this night instead of a princess.  I'm glad I didn't actually try to make her a costume because she changed her mind every day about what she wanted to be.

Justin took them out for about 15 minutes and they were fairly certain that they won the lottery.

Halloween at School

E with her whole class.  She was being Felicity.  The Power Ranger???? in the back row has recently asked if E can come play at his house, and he was sure to come Trick or Treating at our house.  I don't think she knows what a crush is, and I haven't mentioned it.

Sitting on her rug spot.

Gawking at their sister.

The Parade.

Playing in the woods on the walk home.  I haven't had a camera since everything started dying for winter.

Searching out a stick.... which he calls a "fight."

Grandma's Halloween Shirts with my favorite red leaves.  There actually isn't too much color to an Iowa fall, so I am glad we have these.

Something to talk about

This photo is entitled:  "To Veto Dress Choices, Or Not To Veto."

Help us please!

Eating doughnuts with Daddy.  Although I must say this doughnut shop... the only one in Iowa... does not win any stars.  Tragically.  But you should have seen the faces of the other customers when E walked in.  (See above photo for a reminder.)

This photo is entitled:  "Look Mom, I am really pregnant."

And this is Justin's tortilla de patata (which I spelled wrong) that he has been craving for a year now, and finally made this past Sunday.

There was a less glarey picture (yes, that is a word) but Justin looked like his eyes were rolling into the back of his head on that one.

Ward Trunk or Treat

This year, the Young Women were in charge of organizing the Ward Trunk or Treat.  That meant me and the crew showed up early to help get tables set-up and organize food.  Since Justin had a pretty busy weekend, he was not planning on making it.  (Luckily for me... his plans changed.)

When it was time for the party to actually start, Justin called to see if I could come get him.  I really couldn't, so he started walking.  A little while later I requisitioned a kind friend's husband to go and get him.  About five minutes after I did that, one of my few "pregnancy episodes" showed up.  I really don't throw up that often when I'm pregnant, so I have nothing to complain about... but when I do, I also get faint and turn all sorts of odd temperatures and feel like falling over and stuff.

Do you know a great time to have this happen?

At a ward Halloween party - especially when you're there with your three children all by yourself.

So these three little angels were handed over to another friend and I went and threw up while someone picked up Justin.  It was sooooo much fun.  I would recommend it to anyone.

Since the kids got candy... they didn't care!

Fall Fun Fest

Recently I got to go to school (without M and GQ) and help E at "Fall Fun Fest."  Pretty much they made every craft you ever thought of making for Halloween and Fall.  E's favorite was the glitter bats - which I didn't get a picture of, of course.  I felt a little "extra" because E is so crafty on her own and didn't need my help or opinion at all.  It was fun to watch her at school and spend some time with her and without the other crazies.

Decorating her pumpkin.  This is one of the two Halloween Decorations we currently have up at our house.  It is on the front porch.  (E also drew a picture that she hung on the front door.)  Without her we would be holiday vagrants.

Making applesauce.

Putting glitter on an acorn.

Making a bird-feeder.  We hung it up and when the birds did not immediately rush the scene all the kids were disappointed.  Hopefully we'll see a few birds before the squirrels steal the goods.

(I did suggest that E might want to wear her Halloween shirt from Grandma.  She chose - surprise, surprise - her favorite ghetto pink skirt, and a new pink sweater/shirt she's recently acquired that matches perfectly.  I am so thankful for our most recent bundle of sweaters we received - just in the nick of time - really I am.  They mean I don't have to go buy sweaters and long-sleeve shirts, and I am very happy.  Funnily enough, they are from a child that wore them a few seasons ago, and so they are slightly out of style.  This means E loves them EVEN more!!!!)

Happy Fall Fun Fest!!!

We were happy to have Grandma and Grandpa Wood visit recently.  Here is a picture of the kids attacking Grandma Wood's Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake.

We love you!!!!
