I went to Iowa.
I found nowhere to live.
I picked something once I got home.
2 bedrooms, not 3.
But clean, with one of the schools I wanted for E... and eventually M... and eventually GQ... wow
Signing a lease is taking some time. We're assured it will happen, but they're still clearing up who is staying and who is going and what our actual address will be.
So, every once in a while, when I feel like having a full-out mental episode, I still look at Craigslist.
Today I found a 3 bedroom, still in my price range, still with the schools I want.
But I don't know about the neighborhood.
And maybe the inside is a dirt pile.
And I know one person in Iowa who can look for me.
And I don't actually "know" this person, anyway.
And they're having someone else look at it on Thursday.
Why is this all so difficult?
I tell you.
It would be easier to dig a hole.

Jamie, I feel so bad for you. Looking for housing stinks, especially when you're out of state. I would say that you should have your person check out the neighborhood and the inside. We rented the house we're in now without seeing the inside first. Sure, it's in a great neighborhood and has great schools (which is why we felt comfortable renting it without seeing the inside), but it's definitely a dirt pile inside :) Even if I had seen the inside before renting it, I think we still would have rented it...but I was quite shocked and disappointed at first...just thought you should know. :)
I feel your pain. Good luck. I hope this 3 bedroom is WONDERFUL and beautiflu and perfect and that you get to live there.
Ooooh man. I thought you had it all wrapped up. How frustrating to STILL be waiting...I hate waiting. Maybe it was because this 3 bedroom is a beautifully clean castle (that will make E happy) inside and that is where you are supposed to be. Maybe? Keep us updated. I hope it all works out!
Z says that you should call directly to the police dept. ask to speak with an officer and someone should call you back. We did this before we moved up here.
