If You Give GQ a Toothbrush...

... he will steal a million more.

When I got married I declared that I would never share my toothpaste with my husband.  "Ew, Gross."  I think those were my words.  My friend Elisa - choosing to make fun of me in a good-natured way - bought me two tubes of toothpaste and labeled them with my name and Justin's name.

A few years into it I realized that - at least with Justin - I didn't have to worry.  He is more OCD about his toothpaste than I am.

Then, I had GQ.

GQ loves toothbrushes.  He loves brushing his teeth.  He loved it when he had no teeth.

This is the thing about GQ.  He knows which tooth brush belongs to which person.  He often tells me as he points them out.

As he points them out and puts them in his mouth.

"Eddie's toot-brush."  Chomp-Chomp
"Me-ed's toot-brush."  Chomp-Chomp
"Mommy's toot-brush."  Chomp-Chomp

Oh yes, he did.

Ew, gross.

I now hide my toothbrush (like a certain brother-in-law I know who puts his on the top of the door frame) but after GQ found my most recent toothbrush (the 4th in just a month) I had to just give up, wash it off, and use it anyway.

D-I-S-G-U-S-T-I-N-G

And yes, he is the one who got all those toothbrushes out and put them on the counter.

It's true sharing a toothbrush does not leave a great feeling in the mouth (ha ha) --- however, as we know with kids we give up on so many things we would never have done before! I watched a mom feed her little girl in RS on Sunday. She spooned the baby food into her daughter's mouth and then at the end she popped the spoon into her own mouth to clean it off before she packed it away. I hid a smile - because I distinctly remembering the first time I did that too...it was then I realized I was giving up all thoughts of never sharing germs and such.

On the bright side - look at that handsome smile and the great teeth on that boy that shared your toothbrush!! :)

Oh man, I had cousins that shared toothbrushes, and that kind of grossed me out growing up. But I do have to admit, I totally share toothpaste with my husband, although when he is sick or I am sick, I fantasize about having our own tubes.

Wow, I am truly impressed. I remember your little fetish from our BYU days. Congrats for your accomplishments because I don't know if I could have done that!

Grant must take after his Grandpa Mark who ALSO LOVES TO BRUSH HIS TEETH!

Grandpa Mark, however DOES NOT LIKE TO "SHARE" toothbrushes!

Love,
Grandma Paula

That's so funny! Sam LOVES toothbrushes too! Fortunately he can't reach them, but I do let him walk around with his because he likes it so much.
