"Earth's crammed with heaven, And every common bush afire with God, But only he who sees takes off his shoes, The rest sit 'round it and pluck blackberries."

Catching up....

Summer is getting me behind.  So here goes a bunch of photos with some explanations.  What can I say???

Sterling likes to take walks and go to sleep on his Momma's tummy.

Meg loves to ride scooters while we wait for Ellie's piano lessons:

We bought our tomato plants down in Amish country, as usual, and the kids played in their great sandbox, as usual.  This is a fun yearly tradition that we love.  Although Grant didn't quite get the whole "don't point and stare when people dress differently than you" memo.  When he saw some of the Amish children, he pointed and said "Are those are the people we're not supposed to point at?"

Grandparents come to visit:

Spencer is so exhausted he keels over in Ellie's lap after Church one Sunday.  Ellie was such a good sport and stayed there until he woke up again.

We go on a hike for Memorial Day (and get eaten alive by gnats!!!)

Panda Bear walks to school like Baby Sterling:

Spencer invites the ants to our home with open arms:

Meg really wanted to cut her hair, and so we caved.  It turned out really cute though as the heat and the loss in length meant it curled up even more than usual.

Maybe we have to many children for our swimming pool????

Life with older sisters:

Enjoying outside weather!!!!

Grant loves soccer.  As long as I can convince him to not guard that goal too tightly, he does a great job chasing the ball and making goals.  This year we had many friends from Church on our team.  I'm not sure Grant noticed he knew his soccer friends, but it was nice to have friends on the sidelines.

At a friend's house Spencer decides he would rather stay with the guns than come home with me.

Ellie's book club gets together for cupcakes and discussion:

Summer means swim lessons.  This year I paid so that Spencer could swim in the baby pool during lessons.  He did not, however, choose to get in:

We go camping... and disaster strikes.  The young women who borrowed our tent missed putting back three of the poles (one tent, two fly), there is not firewood to buy (we were trying not to cross state lines and carry beetles), and the firepit at our campsite has seen better days.  Still!!!! after all that fuss, we had a great camping trip.  Next time we want to go for more than one day.... after we find our poles.  Meanwhile, Sterling slept his first full night.  Camping agrees with him!
